MAN FACES ASSAULT CHARGE

Brockville Police arrested and charged a 38-year-old local man with assault with a weapon and uttering a death threat after an altercation at a King Street West apartment on Thursday at 5 p.m.

Police say the man was fighting with another man in the residence. The accused then allegedly took a swipe at the victim with a knife.

The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated and released from Brockville General Hospital.

The accused was held for bail. His name has not yet been released.

 

MAN CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED OPERATION OF A VESSEL

Brockville Police arrested and charged a 45-year-old man with impaired operation of a vessel, operating a vessel over .08 and breach of probation after he allegedly operated a boat while intoxicated early Friday morning.

Police said they received a report of a possible impaired boater in the area of Blockhouse Island around 4 a.m. Friday. The boat appeared to have struck something, then returned to the Brockville Yacht Club, where he was arrested.

The man, whom police did not identify, was released with a future court date.
