Canopy Growth Corporation is hosting its fourth annual Shindig this Saturday, an all-day music festival on the grounds of the cannabis company.

This year’s billing includes Bahamas, Hollerado, Shay Lia, Elijah Woods x Jamie Fine, and many other musical acts throughout the day, in addition to local bands and much-loved artisans, food stands and other vendors.

And, yes, cannabis will be allowed for those of legal age.

When it was first held four years ago it was the first big-ticket festival of its kind to be hosted in Smiths Falls, and over the years its popularity has grown. The event has gone on to feature award-winning headliners like Mother Mother, Classified, and Snoop Dogg last year.

“Every year Shindig grows, and every year it gets more exciting,” the company’s website reads.

“Over the last four years, Smiths Falls has grown into a town full of hope and excitement. To demonstrate what the town is all about, we’re throwing the largest community and music event right in the heart of it all.”

Other acts include Basic White, DJ Scammer, Five + None, Jonathan Emile, Julia Dales, Last Drop Orchestra, and Loon Choir.

Tickets are $15 for anyone 18 years old and up, and free for people under 18. Residents of Smiths Falls are also able to pick up free tickets at the Smiths Falls Visitor Centre, located at 77 Beckwith Street.

All proceeds from ticket sales will go directly to an undisclosed local Smiths Falls charity.

The Shindig is not only put on for locals but it attracts visitors and artists from across the country, the company said, “giving everyone a chance to celebrate summer and the town of Smiths Falls.”

Organizers will be running a free shuttle service between Ottawa, Kanata, Carleton Place and Smiths Falls to make sure that Shindig is accessible for everyone.

Tickets are still available, but last year they sold out of the 5,000 available tickets. Doors open at 1 pm.
