Osheaga to announce cancellation of 2021 festival

Evenko will announce the news on Thursday morning

Osheaga, Montreal’s summer music and arts festival, will not take place in 2021, sources have confirmed to the Montreal Gazette.

The organization, owned by Evenko, will announce the news on Thursday morning. It was first reported by CityNews Wednesday.
Osheaga was also cancelled in 2020 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was set to feature headliners Lizzo, Kendrick Lamar and Foo Fighters. As recently as the weekend, director Nick Farkas said he would try to hold the three-day festival July 30 to Aug. 1, with Foo Fighters, Cardi B and Post Malone set to headline. “We’re not taking another summer off,” he said.
Last week, the festival threatened to relocate as of 2023 because the outdoor space it uses on Île-Ste-Hélène is being transformed by the city.
