PRESCOTT — An Edwardsburgh Cardinal resident faces charges of impaired driving and driving while exceeding the legal blood alcohol concentration after police stopped a motorist at a drive-through last week.
Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police responded to a traffic complaint on Edward Street in Prescott just before 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29.
Police located a driver at a drive-through, spoke to him and used an approved screening device at the scene, OPP noted on Wednesday, Aug. 5.
Police arrested the man and took him to the detachment for further testing.
James Ostler, 51, was released and is to appear in Brockville court on Oct. 2. An impaired driving charge comes with an automatic 90-day driver’s licence suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment, OPP noted.
Heavily impaired driver
A 46-year-old Brockville man was charged with impaired driving Tuesday evening after concerned citizens contacted police about an erratic driver.
