A 34-year-old man was arrested following an incident at Canadian Tire in Brockville on Friday evening.
The accused reportedly approached another male and produced a switchblade, said police.
For some unknown reason, the accused opened it and followed the male around the store.
The victim contacted police, and the accused was apprehended and charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a prohibited weapon. The police news release does not indicate there were any injuries.
Three times the limit
Police arrested a 44-year-old woman on impaired driving charges at a traffic stop in Brockville on Sunday night.
A vehicle was pulled over for speeding at about 8:20 p.m., said police.
The city officer detected an odour of an alcoholic beverage on the driver’s breath. She failed a roadside screening test and a second breath test at the police station, police added.
The driver’s blood alcohol levels were reportedly 240 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, or three times the legal limit, said police. She was charged with impaired driving and driving while exceeding the legal blood alcohol limit.
SUV stolen in north end
Brockville police are on the lookout for a vehicle that was reportedly stolen from a Laurier Boulevard address on Friday between 5:10 and 5:45 p.m.
The vehicle is a grey 2016 Toyota Highlander bearing Ontario licence plates BTTT 310.
Arrested for theft
A 44-year-old woman was apprehended at Real Canadian Superstore in Brockville on Sunday afternoon.
A loss prevention officer had reportedly observed the accused conceal merchandise on her person and then leave the store without attempting to pay, said police. The woman was given an appearance notice with a court date before being released at the scene.
