Two men face multiple drug charges after police executed a search warrant at a Garden Street residence in Brockville on Friday.
Members of the Ontario Provincial Police community street crime unit (Leeds-Grenville and Lanark) and the Brockville Police Service were assisted by the Brockville emergency response unit. Officers seized a significant quantity of what is suspected to be cocaine, crystal meth and crack cocaine, according to the OPP.
Sean O’Connor, 52, and Kyle O’Connor, 30, of Brockville, were arrested and charged with possession of stolen property obtained by crime under $5,000, possession of meth, two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, said police.
They were transported to the Grenville OPP detachment in Prescott, where they will be held for bail.
Vehicles entered, nothing taken
Recent incidents in Prescott have prompted Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police to issue yet another reminder to local residents to lock their vehicles.
Provincial police received reports of several vehicles being entered at residences on Park Street East on Wednesday evening. Nothing was reported missing, according to an OPP release issued on Friday. A suspect was described as wearing a black hooded jacket with green fluorescent stripes.
Vehicle owners are being encouraged to take measures to reduce the risk of becoming victims of theft.
In addition to locking the doors and rolling up windows, the public is being advised to never leave any items of value in plain view inside the vehicle; place them in the trunk.
Police recommend that car registration and proof of insurance be kept in possession of the vehicle operator at all times rather than stored in the glove compartment. Do not leave a vehicle unattended while it is running.
