Provincial police are looking for suspects in the assault of a 62-year-old man in a home invasion near Brockville early Thursday morning.
The Leeds County detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police said the “violent robbery” happened at a home in Elizabethtown-Kitley Township, but officials stress there is no danger to the public at large.
At approximately 2 a.m., officers were called to a home on County Road 46, northwest of Brockville.
Two men broke into the residence and assaulted a male victim, said police.
Leeds County paramedics took the 62-year-old man to hospital. His injuries were considered non-life-threatening.
“Investigators believe the attackers fled in a waiting vehicle. It is believed this is an isolated incident, with no concerns for public safety in the area,” OPP added.
Police had no description available of either the attackers or the vehicle involved, but urged anyone with information on the incident to contact the Leeds OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
