The Jr. A team defeated the Canadians 4-2 in Carleton Place on Sunday afternoon to win the 2018-19 CCHL final series 4-1.

The Canadians took a 2-1 lead into the third period; Kyle Jackson’s seventh goal of the playoffs evened the score at 4:32 of the third, and Danny Pilon scored the game-winner eight minutes into the final frame. Owen Cole added an empty-netter with 17 seconds left in regulation.

Playoff MVP and first star of the game Francis Boisvert made 36 saves in net for Ottawa; the Jr. Sens were outshot 38-20.

Boisvert picked up the shutout as Ottawa blanked Carleton Place 2-0 in game four on Friday night. Darcy Walsh scored the winner at 5:05 of the first period, and Jackson added some insurance eight minutes into the second.

Boisvert has a goals-against average of 1.46 in the post-season.

Ottawa advanced to the CCHL finals by defeating Brockville in the semi-finals for the second consecutive year. Carleton Place was also the opponent in last year’s Bogart Cup finals.

The Jr. Senators will represent the CCHL at the Fred Page Cup in Nova Scotia at the beginning of May. Ottawa won the cup last year. The Fred Page winner will compete in the national Jr. A championships in Alberta.
