The St. Lawrence College Vikings men’s golf team will be heading to the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association national championships at the Desert Blume Golf Club in Medicine Hat, Alta., this week.

The four-round event goes from Tuesday to Friday.

The Vikings last competed in the nationals in 2013, and it’s the third time in the school’s history they have advanced this far.

They are ranked 10th in the nation heading into the tournament.

The team qualified for nationals after a third-place finish at the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association championships in London at the beginning of the month. Humber and Fanshaw also qualified from Ontario.

The Vikings team members are Jamaal Moussaoui, Peter Beneteau, Trent Snider and Carter Kelly of the Kingston campus and as Shawn Oliver from the Brockville campus.

Rob Brown is the head coach and he’s assisted by Matt Horton and Brian Black. All three are St. Lawrence College alumni.
